The Art of Tactful Self-Promotion in Transition with Nancy Burke & RIchard Dodson
Tactful self-promotion is a crucial career and life competency, especially for people in job transition. Even people who hate the idea of self-promotion must find ways to increase their visibility if they want more job opportunities, recognition and rewards. Whether youre in transition or not, promoting yourself is not optional.
Tactful self-promotion IS NOT about being a blowhard, stealing the credit or elbowing your way to the center of attention; it IS about cultivating a positive reputation. In this presentation, youll learn practical strategies for:
Positioning yourself in ways that highlight your value, differentiators and accomplishments, helping you stand out from your competition,
Cultivating strategic relationships and expanding your network,
Gaining constructive visibility by managing meetings, working a room, and leveraging social media.
Nancy Burke and Richard Dodsonhave a total of 40+ years doing career coaching and helping people who are in transition. They havepublished a book,Power your Career: The Art of Tactful Self-Promotion at Work, which was recently awarded a gold medal for the Best Career Book of 2016 by Axiom Business Book Awards.
In their presentation, they will outline actions that even the most reserved can take to increase their visibility without violating their integrity or values (and without triggering a panic attack!).
Don't miss this discussion and get an opportunity for networking and meeting on-site employers as well!
