Event Description

The goal of this workshop is to present an overview of recent amendments made to the New York City Human Rights Law regarding practices in employment. The workshop reviews prohibitions and exemptions on the use of credit reports in making employment decisions. Topics covered include consumer and credit reports terminology, contents of credit reports and examples of discriminatory acts by employers based on reliance of credit history. Resources for employers and job seekers are explored. The Fair Chance section of the workshop addresses protections for job seekers with criminal records.
